Cabo Verde — visa now required in advance for 91 nationalities, except residence-permit holders

Since 1 January 2026, nationals of 91 listed countries, including Pakistan, the Philippines, Egypt, Indonesia, Vietnam and Mexico, must get a Cabo Verde visa before arriving, even to transit. The passport data Visafar uses still showed Cabo Verde as open for 89 of them; that is now corrected from the official list. The same rules exempt holders of a valid residence permit from an EU state, the UK, Switzerland, Canada, the US and a few others, who can still get a visa at the border; that is a new verified rule.
