Ireland's visa waiver for UK visa holders ends on 31 October 2026

Under the Short Stay Visa Waiver Programme, nationals of 21 countries, including India, China, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Türkiye, the Gulf states, the Western Balkans, Colombia and Peru, can visit Ireland without an Irish visa if they first enter the UK on a UK short-stay visa. The order that runs the programme ends it on 31 October 2026, and no extension had been published on the Irish Statute Book as of 8 October. Visafar stops showing it after 31 October unless it is extended. The British-Irish Visa Scheme for Indian and Chinese travellers (a UK visa endorsed 'BIVS') is separate and not affected.
