Conditions

• Only for nationals in CA-4 Category B for El Salvador, for example India, the Philippines, Thailand, Egypt and Morocco. Category C nationals (for example Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Nepal) with such a visa still need a consular visa (Art. 34(4)).
• Qualifying documents: a visa from the United States, Canada or a Schengen state (Art. 34(3)), or a valid permanent or temporary residence permit from a country El Salvador classifies as Category A, such as the US, Canada or an EU state (Art. 34(1)).
• On entry the passport is stamped 'Exento de Visa' and you pay the entry tourist card (Tarjeta Migratoria de Ingreso).
• Up to 90 days in the CA-4 region, granted at the border and extendable once (CA-4 manual, B.6); the Salvadoran regulation itself sets no length for this route.
• Passport valid 6 months; proof of sufficient funds and onward documents required.
• CA-4 zone: the allowance is shared with Guatemala and Honduras.

Also accepted instead of a US visa: US Green Card, Canadian visa, Canadian PR, Schengen visa, EU/EEA residence permit.
